Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, reads the positions of the planets at the moment of your birth to understand your nature and the phases your life moves through.
What astrology looks at
An astrologer draws your birth chart, or kundli, from your date, time and place of birth. The chart shows where each planet stood in the twelve houses, each house relating to an area of life such as career, relationships, home or health.
The Dasha periods then describe which planet is most active in your life at any time, and transits show how present planetary movements touch your chart.

How a consultation usually works
You share your date, exact time and place of birth, and your question. The astrologer prepares your chart, studies your current Dasha and transits, and explains what they see. The more accurate your birth time, the more precise the reading can be.
Common questions
Why does my exact birth time matter?
The rising sign and the houses change roughly every two hours, and more finely within that. An accurate time lets the astrologer place the houses correctly.
What if I do not know my birth time?
Many astrologers can still give a general reading from the date and place, and some offer birth-time rectification from past life events.
What is the difference between astrology and numerology?
Astrology works from the planets' positions at your time and place of birth. Numerology works from the numbers in your date of birth and name. Some practitioners use both.
Can astrology tell me what will definitely happen?
No. Astrology describes tendencies and favourable or challenging periods. It is guidance, and your own choices always matter.
